Myself and our Eldest Grandson took a drive over to one of the farms for some proper shooting practice... Gun handling and range work.
Weather was not brilliant so we tucked into the grain store.
Took him through some basic marksmanship principles and shooting techniques.
We set the target at 10 yds.
He absolutely loved it.... As did I.
Some impressive results using his Gamo. 177
Went through standing.... Sitting.... And prone positions.

Loved It  :D

That's pretty good with a little Springer.

Good to see young shooters being taught safety and position from early on. He'll be a far better marksman for practicing with a groundwork of good posture and safe habits. Not a bipod or beanbag in sight...👍

Absolutely right Mike

When he has had a bit more practice and fun at 10 yds.... and we move the target back another 5 yds....I will introduce a beanbag to him after a session or two at the longer distance.
Want him to get the full benefit and skill of shooting a springer....before introducing a PCP next year.

One thing I would add, far too few young shooters are taught the value of using a sling to help stabilise themselves in position while aiming. Match slings are an invaluable aid once you start to increase range.
