Plastic bottle rope hack .....

If you were to use the rope produced it would be best in a situation where it got little or no sunlight or it would go brittle and fail quite quickly. The product could also be woven into reinforcement in strong baskets for foraging or fishing.

Or temporary replacement boot laces
 
If you got it narrow enough you could probably manage to lariat plait it into an actual rope, again a little hard on the hands but a useful skill to have.
