As a young’in a used a magnifying glass to heat up ants and spiders lol......It’s a high interest of mine to learn as many techniques of fire starting as I can. The only thing is I’m stuck at the bow drill. When I say stuck I mean I’m just lacking practice and not technique. So fire by lens is on my list.

I have never used one, I suggest you try it if you have one.

I don’t have on at the moment Keith but they are readily available at the car boot sail I go to..a will pick one up for next to nothing

It should work Mark, I've heard of the bottoms of clear glass bottles being used to start fires
