It's been a few weeks since I was out at the woodland I usually walk but I got out today to return my repaired trail camera to the spot just outside the badger sett. There doesn't look like there's been any recent activity there so hopefully soon the cubs will be around.
I disturbed a small group of Roe deer but managed one half decent camera shot after they settled down again about 60m away. Also got one shot at a woodpecker and a buzzard.
Anyway, it was good to get out again and sit in the soggy woods reading my book. :)

Can anyone think what the hairs could be from?

We have three of the four British woodpeckers here in March/April Paul, you’ll hear the green woodpecker yaffle long before you see him. The only one we don’t get here is the Wryneck.

I was sitting having my breakfast in the woods this morning when I got this curious visitor who appeared about 20m from me and stood long enough for me to slowly grab the camera.

And just for proof of the existence of the breakfast
