As the weather was calm I set out on a lovely walk. It started off with me walking part of the Dere Street Roman Road which would have cut through Brusselton Woods and on to Piercebridge. The first three photos are of the original Roman Road and you can make out where it would have cut through the woods. Where the mast is.

At the top just before the mast I ventured along the outskirts and into Brusselton Woods. Its a lovely place where the smell of tranquility just hits you. Usually there are deer around but not today, so here are some pictures of the woods.

It's amazing the Romans would have walked these roads. Dere Street stretched as far as York.
