That’s a working fireplace Pete, not just an affectation…it runs our central heating… The dirt on the glass is inevitable.

Ours is just for one room and it's about half the size of that. It has an air wash system secondary burn that keeps the glass clean mostly

In fact that particular storm this past December shut down the power for 16 hours. I was up half the night feeding the stove to keep those single digits on the other side of those four walls.
