myself and my little warrior took a drive to a place called st monans, lovely little fishing village, a place I use to visit my uncle most summer holidays, or when my mother had enough of me 😁
Memories and nostalgia, it’s been around 30 + years but I remember the place like it was yesterday……

I remember all the little shortcuts down to the rock pools, put a nice smile on my ugly face 😁

Just listening to the excitement in my girls voice brought back the memories of playing along this Rocky beach front, away for hours with not a care 😁 oh and what a beautiful view when sipping a brew

After a little lunch and something warm to drink it was off foraging in the rock pools

turning over rocks for crabs, shrimp and whatever else we could find….

After catching this unhappy chap a thought crossed my mind, I could be turning over the same rocks with my girl as I turned over as a child…must be getting sentimental in my old age😁

on to more rock turning, we managed to find an edible crab…. However it is way too small for the pot

Excellent post Mark.....really enjoyed the read and pictures.....must have been nice to sit and reflect and share your memories with your little one.🙂

Also great to see the Swiss Army knife doing what it's meant for, a robust and useful EDC pocket knife.
That just goes to show that it isn't always necessary to cart a big fixed blade around in public when you own a good quality folding pocket knife.

Exactly, however I would love to walk about like Rambo now and again 😁

This is one I use. Got it at River Cottage a couple of years ago.

thanks mate 👍🏻 , found it on the bay ….

good enough for you, it’s good enough for me 😁

Looks a great wee village and a great time out, the Firebox comes into its own in those conditions, as soon as I'm able, probably next year, I need to go on the coastal foraging course that I've been promising for years, great pics and write up 👍
