Solar charger

I think we’ve had technology arguments before.....

I’d equate it to my youth; I never had a phone and still survived; my son has one and if he (or someone else) gets into trouble he can ring for help, it may save his life in a situation where I would undoubtedly have lost mine.....

It’s the same in the woods, a phone could save yours or someone else’s life so I’d say carry one if you can, it’s also lighter than a book and if switched off will last a while.

In terms of charging it I have a 20000mah charge pack which will charge it four or five times, I don’t need a BioLite stove but want one, I think it is a more practical solution than the pan, about the same price and seems to work better.

and more versatile. Its also an mp3 player, games machine (apps/solitaire etc) and GPS depending on where you are. They're definitely worth looking after in a waterproof case or the like when away, I killed one a couple years ago falling into a bog (marsh, not cludgie ;)) and apart from the expense of replacing it, I missed having it to call the missus although Smurf saved the day and only charged me a fiver to borrow his. 😛

I never leave the house without my phone even if I don't plan on using it and going up the hills is the same so I like to have ways to recharge it if required.
