I fancied a little light relief after playing with the geometry of folders for a while so went back to a fixed blade design for this project. It’s a little different to my previous offerings in that it’s fitted with synthetic scales in the form of black and orange G10 and will (when the parts arrive) have a Kydex sheath. The knife itself is 4mm 1095 steel with a 3inch cutting edge and an overall length of 8 inches.
Thanks for looking :)

Thanks chaps. The kydex arrived as well so I had a play with that this afternoon. It’s certainly not as aesthetically pleasing as leather but if you just want a quick practical cover it seems pretty handy stuff (still looks bloody ugly though ;))

Made a good job of the sheath :thumbsup: I do agree that it’s not as pleasing to the eye as leather but different strokes for different folks :thumbsup:

Another project I had on the go has had to be finished a bit quicker than anticipated tonight. A pocket knife is absolutely indispensable for me at work and today I’ve had one of those (insert expletive here) mishaps. At the start of the day laying a 2^3 M concrete pad I was using my trusty spyderco UKPK, at the end of the day I err wasn’t :(. If I’m honest it’s probably unlikely I’m going to see it again barring a forensic police search so this has had to be finished pronto. It’s clearly in need of some fettling (which it will get in time). As I’m sure you can see it also has a black and orange G10 handle and it’s my first stainless knife (14n28c) so I’ll have to give it some hammer at work to see if I’ve got my heat treat A Ok (1050C soak’s quite exciting) :)

@Bionic

That knife.... deserves....... and is crying out for....... a leather sheath.....does not have to be fancy.
Kydex has its place and uses.......but a piece of craftmanship such as that knife warrants more than a nasty plastic jacket.........oh shame on you ;):rofl::rofl:

Oh, I could weep I tell you!! :rofl:

To be fair it’ll probably end up getting a leather sheath as well. I’ve never used Kydex before and fancied having a play with it and despite the looks it seems to be a durable practical alternative but then again so is leather I suppose :)

I usually do make my own out of veg tan leather like you say. They’re not a patch on the leatherwork you’ve posted up before but they do the job. Here’s a few recent ones :)
