Friday afternoon saw Al and I meeting up for a weekends wild camping . The plan was for a couple of nights hammocking at two separate locations . The first was a new spot in an area we’ve been to before close to Sandsend on the North Yorkshire Coast.

A quick walk in from the overnight car park sees us into a secluded wooded area just back from the Cleveland Way path and within earshot of the sea.

Pitches selected and firewood collected , we settled into our camp routine of beers , food and chat. A great way to unwind.

After a good kip it was up early , a light breakfast , tidy of the camp and pack away . Phase two is to drive over towards Scarborough for some lunch and a recce of the second location . As we left the pitch we emerged into bright warming sunshine . After a good night it was promising to turn into a great weekend.

I'll keep it together, so part 1 Sandsend hammock camp. The weather was forecast dry and warm ish, we were not to know how well the weather gods would treat us, so a short walk in a camp was made. My Tenth Wonder hammock and DD superlite 3x3 tarp

A great night in the hammock in a new bag, a North Face Cat's Meow, very warm bag, very happy with it, a quick coffee and porridge before the walk out and back to the car to continue onto Hayburn Wyke.
