Al and I managed a quick overnight yesterday, on the headland above Runswick Bay . The weather man said the “Beast from the East “ was coming some I packed my arctic bag and Al had his trusted Canadian mammoth bag .

Although it was cold it wasn’t as bad as expected and as it turned out we had a good night . Once set up we completed our camp chores , had some brews and watched the sun set .

A quick cook up , Al was on his famous dehydrated mince an gravy and I had some pre heated chilli in my thermos .

A nip of brandy and whiskey and a chat about future plans and locations and the temperature dictated an early bed . We both slept well , woke early to the sun shining over Runswick Bay (maybe that’s why they built the village on that side of the bay ?).

A quick walk out and home in time for tea and medals . It’s my birthday today and that was a great start to my 51st year .

Lol I just tagged onto the other thread while you were posting this up, talk abbot great minds mate, I'll edit on the pc now

A good overnight trip, good company at short notice, a bright clear sunny day, the wind was biting cold though, once the sun had set it was hot food chin wag and bed early, must have been before 20.00, I slept very warm, so much in fact that the socks came off and the sleeping bag was partially unzipped, 12 hours later saw us crawling out of our pits, coffee and wagon wheels for breakfast while packing up, the end to another good trip, look forward to the next already.
