What a cracking few days away.
Dick and I met "Shergar" and Matt at the services.....we had a cup of coffee and a bacon roll before we left.......and Dick emptied his bag
We were welcomed by Mike and Louise on arrival with big smiles and hand shakes.....and nudged and licked by their lovely dogs.
Mike showed us the shower and toilet that he and Louise made available to us......very kind and much appreciated.
We then took a walk up a track where Mike showed us a variety of pitching options....some in the woods and some in the paddocks......perfect!
We had quite a bit of gear between us and the hill would have been a challenge to us older and more fragile members
Mike volunteered his tractor and kindly ferried our kit up to the base camp.......a proper gent......and a great help.
Everyone set about setting up and getting organised.
We had some rain...but in general the weather was good.......and the nights around the fire were made even better with some of Mikes Homemade falling over water.....one of the best Ciders I have tasted
With that and Matt's Dark Matter" we were soon singing and dancing around the fire.......then trying to make our way back to the shelters
Such a lovely spot that has been lovingly cared for with thought and conservation in mind.
Mike and Louise had a dreadful and sad decision to make concerning one of their dogs......we hope you both come to terms with that.....and know full well you both did your best
On pack up Mike was there again with his tractor to help us out and back to the cars.
We could not have wished for a more generous...... kind and accommodating host's who welcomed us to their home and property.
It was a pleasure to meet and share time with you Mike.....thank you so much for sheltering a bunch of reprobates for a few days at your home.....at the same time helping the forum.
We wish you both luck in the search for your forever home in the future
Thank you "Jiff" for the delicious Caaaaaaaakes............and to everyone for your company and friendship as usual
