@Bopdude had some hard earned free time this weekend so we got ourselves into a local spot that is fast becoming a regular favourite and serves us well as our bushcraft base camp .

We had Al’s lad with us who was keen to assist so we used some of our time to tidy up the area , move some fallen deadwood and make the spot a bit more homely .

Usual beer and scran around the fire pit and as ever made sure we took all our rubbish out with us .

I was away at half seven this morning as I’m in work … Al was off for a fry up 😁.

As others have said, great spot. Is it a forestry plantation? Which species? Looks like you blokes are establishing a semi-regular bush camp there. Is it your bugout spot? ( is that the right term?)

Must be nice having somewhere to go to and be all set up when you arrive. How frequently do other people come through? Is it well used spot and could somebody stumble across your camp? Would that even be an issue?

Good luck fellas

Yes Alan, it is a wild camping spot in a plantation, will only ever be semi-permanent as we do visit regularly, it's not a bug out spot, just a quiet out of the way spot for quiet contemplation. It is close to a water source and a path in the valley bottom where there is some footfall, but we have never been disturbed or bothered in the time we have been visiting. It may be used by others as the fire pit was already in situ when we found it.
