You should try it teef, very little residue after the burn and because of the more tightly packed pellets you get a longer burn. That test I did was with only about an ounce or so off pellets and was enough to boil my small kettle

So far, it burns very hot and clean and starts the gas process within about 3 minutes

Well decided to give this a bash for myself and I got to say I'm surprised! They burn really well although mine is woodlander and not grain based, but a good handful Burns for 30-40 mins!! Definitely my new fuel for days out. Thanks @Joecole

... save your £10 and buy a lixada stainless woodgas stove from ebay

received mine a couple days ago, took it our for a trial run in the woods for the first time today. this is what i received:

excellent little bit of kit! less than half the weight of the first wood gas stove i bought -- this one weighs about 300g -- breaks down to a smaller bundle and does pretty much as good out in the field, IMO.
there are a few minor tweaks i'll be making but for the tenner it's .

fwiw found a good series of 'tuber vids on the Lixada stove from a guy named Mark Young. he calls it the Lixada "Tower Stove" and figures it is half a gasifier stove and half a rocket stove, does some good tests and comparisons to back that up. anyway, these might be of interest:
