morning

Some picking up and mending to do then Mike......can you rescue the runners?
I will try but I expect they're a bit mangled.
I was all prepared for the storm, tidied up the yard and made sure the blackout box was to hand and suddenly.......nothing happened! We few showers and that was it. I felt a bit cheated after all the hype. Then to add insult to injury, the power cut that wreaked all the havoc passed us by as well.
Still a bit glum today, I expect a few showers. Have had the conclusion that the Potteries has it's own weather system confirmed over the last couple of days.
It comes to something when you're hoping for a good power cut to validate your black out preps:rofl::rofl::rofl:, that is priceless!

Morning Annie you should have said something because I would have been more than happy to share some of what we had with you

We got some spectacular thunderstorms last night, heaviest rain we've had for a while too, even the fish pond was overflowing. We got a blackout too...... for all of about 10 seconds, just long enough for me to ask Mar in 'faux terror' what should we do. Just as she was saying break out the candles, the lights were back on. Damn !

I'm about as far from a 'serious prepper'/survivalist like some of the more bonkers and prolific posters in the UK prepping fratertnity as you can get. But I do like to be prepared.:D
However, having chosen where to live so well, In more than 20 years, I've only used my blackout box once.

morning .... back garden looks like a scene from a world war movie (after the storm) ... the event shelter that was bought to cover the swimming pool is now in taters (£130) down the drain ... the Gazebo that covers the hot tub has survived (much to my amazement )... so todays plan is out to visit the parents then get home and see if anything can be rescued/revived from the aftermath of the storm 👍

Nothing worse than a power cut.......the worst bit being trying to get the time right on the cooker again :mad::rofl:

I can think of a few things to be honest.

Admittedly resetting the timer is a pain in the hoop.

Good morning, it's quite nice here today. We have gentle breezes, blue sky, little fluffy clouds. Warm enough to work in a t shirt but cool enough to get stuff achieved..... I'm just waiting for it all to go horribly wrong but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
