Well, my little walk in wild camp of a few weeks ago was a total failure, albeit a beautiful ( in a tame way, this is East Anglia, not the north....) 4 mile hike with a too-heavy pack. I hadn't bothered weighing stuff, and took too much as if in the canoe: it was nearer 30kg which is ridiculous for a one nighter . The Richard Outdoors stove and some water were the main culprits, I reckon......
Anyway, short story, everywhere was so overgrown since my last reccy, apart from falling into the reeds, brambles and nettles, which I did twice ......I could not not find anyway of furtively pitching the One Tigris or getting access to the river....my plan for water, everything had grown SO high and thick. Clearing anywhere sufficiently, would have made my passing obvious .
A hike back to the car, eventually ensued, after a short stop for a brew up and a bit of lunch.............
A rare beautiful day though! (There's been no summer to speak of in these parts....)
