Cow Heel Pie - Cow Heel Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 full cow heel
  • lb and half of shinbeef
  • 8oz self raising flour
  • 4oz suet
  • bisto powder.

Method:

Joint the cow heel and trim most of the jelly off the bones.

Dice the shinbeef into 1" pieces.

Place everything into oven dish including bones.

Cover with water.

Put lid on and place in oven on a low heat.

Cook for at least 6hrs checking occasionaly to make sure it isn't too dry.

Excellent Daz, I'm thinking of maybe using the slow cooker to do the boiling, and knowing the wife, she'll probably want to add something or other (probably veg) but its well worth giving this a try, very good for those cold winter nights;)
 
aye mate,it does well in't slow cooker.and me owd mum put veg in once and it did taste good.sliced carrots and sliced leeks i think.
 
I got to find a way of making the perfect crusty dumpys....light and fluffy :)
