Had an hour or so in the workshop this morning so decided to make a ally lid for my crusader cup.
Will help boil the water quicker so saving gas.
It's not the best job in the world but will do it's job just fine.

Just done some testing on boiling times with and without lid.

Half pint of cold tap water. Stove on full to rolling boil.

Without lid 2min 25sec

With lid 2min 6sec

So 19 sec quicker with lid on, don't sound alot but say 5 or 6 cuppa's aday it soon starts to add up. so over a 3 day stay that is approx 5 mins less the stove will be on. So over a year that is a good saving.
