National Rifle Club of Scotland [NRCS] - For the encouragement and development of scientific rifle shooting at long ranges

The Club is the body responsible for representing Scotland in Long Range Rifle Shooting, and in particular in the International Match for the Elcho Shield.

The National Rifle Club of Scotland was instituted in 1872, ten years after the first Elcho Match, with the purpose of "promoting Small-bore or scientific rifle shooting and aid in securing the best Rifle representatives for Scotland in the Elcho Shield and other matches".
