Re the plumbers mat, it's best to roll them and not fold them if possible...they'll last longer. I have one that must be at least 21 years old. Mine has a small split where it was creased but it still works fine. They can also be used as a tent stove jack if you cut a hole and sew on some Velcro.
 
just got my plumbers mat, looks excellent. good size, nice and thick, easy to roll up, very lightweight. seems ideal!
this has gotta be the woodsman's best kept secret. many thanks guys. :thumbsup:
