Known as Katar or Katara these push daggers are from the Indian sub continent. This one is hand forged with some intricate fullering to strengthen the blade.
I'm not keeping it, I intend to put it in auction.

The ceremonial ones have a lot of embellishment, this one is rather plain and would probably have been intended for actual use...it was a brutal weapon but it does have a lot of historical interest and is almost certainly antique. I need to do a bit more research before I sell it and I also need to make sure it won't fall into the wrong hands.
