Overnighter, Ovingham

[Bopdude]

As part of a North East U.K. section on another forum we found ourselves out and about with temps forecast down to minus 3 we were looking forward to a chilli one.

A fair slog in to be fair but we got there, Mick, Johnnie and Damien with me behind the phone, 2 more would join us later



Water source, a great brook, sadly with lots of debris on the banks from one or more of the recent storms



But, it wasn't wasted, seat construction under way



And hammocks and tarps were being set up



Next was food, bush stew, we had all sorts of meat, venison, woodie, teal and more



Well a lot was eaten, washed down with a few beers and some sloe gin with a lot of tall stories to boot, time for bed. Mick in his diy cocoon, worked well so he said.



Morning, and a suspension fail on my part, I woke up with my backside just touching the floor



Breakfast on the go, someone had a cold night, mention no names



Well you have to have a selfie, without pics it never happened



All packed up and what a lovely walk out, an excellent time had by all I can't upload any more to this thread / post, sorry but the last pic will be in it's own post, I think it worth it

Spotted a very nice Bow saw up against a tree.........handmade?
Looks like a cracking spot.....the Brooke is a plus....fast flowing too.

I've got more lol, yeah the bow saw was hand made by Mick, big brute of a thing, the saw's big as well ( sorry Mick, it's true though ) yeah the brook is nice to have, it's on 1 of Mick's permissions so we have carte blanche, within reason, Johnnie was saying he's seen crayfish, not sure which native or American signal, we'll give it a better look at next time. Thanks for looking and commenting
