Simple tip when using a bow drill

With the exception of @Paul N I don't know how many of you know how to use a bow drill, if you do but struggle to get an ember here's a little tip. Lick the tip of the spindle that goes on the hearth board and dip it in some dust or if you have some some silver sand. This will increase the friction and generate heat a lot faster.
