What a great achievement. Well done the adventurers! Was actually gonna say the opposite of Al, that I was surprised there was 50 miles between roads left in UK. Glad to see there is.

The issue is “without crossing a road” as defined by the OS, there are plenty of wide open spaces but are crossed by an access road of some sort; you probably wouldn't notice some of the roads if you crossed them in the dark or under a few inches of snow!
