After a top night hammocking in the woods at Sandsend we bugged out the the Hayburn Wyke pub near Cloughton Scarborough .
Cloughton and Hayburn Wyke: North York Moors National Park
We were early on site and this is a popular walking and cycling destination so we wanted to remain as anonymous as possible .
We decided to leave the gear and walk into the site to recce potential spots . Descending through the woods identifies numerous hammock and ground dwelling sites but once we reach the Wyke itself it’s a no brainer , we’re gonna camp as close to the sea as possible ......
We won’t be able to hammock ( no trees) but Al has his bivvy bag and I’m going to use my DD frontline on the ground as a tent ......
So back up to the pub for some grub and a couple of pints then down to the Wyke to chilll , nap and a few more beers till it quietens down .
