Just got my buddies knife to make him a sheath, bigger than I thought but really looking forward to this build 😁

my plan is to fashion it off from a sheath @1 shot willie made for me. Here’s a picture of the sheath 1 shot made and the knife I’m making one for πŸ‘πŸ»

Well!!! It’s a total redesign 😳 forgot to factor in the size of the pouch to hold the fire steel, striker And sharpening stone πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€” thank feek I only cut it out on paper 😁 would have been right miffed of if I transferred it to the leather 😀😊

Finally finished the templates, think I’m happy with them lol. I’ve had to extend the length of the sheath to accommodate the pouch. So it’s a bid disproportionate to the knife but the lad is 6 foot odd so should be fine 🀞

Finding time for this project is becoming problematic πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Blooming kids and the wife hiring me out to help her friend move house 🀨 suppose it’s a good cause so I shall stop the whinging and show yous lot the progress 😊

Looks a bit strange but I ran out of staples πŸ˜‚ so a few bits of wood and some clamps

πŸ€”πŸ€” not according to plan πŸ‘Ž

So I cut all the bits out, the back panel with the tail for the belt loop, welt, and front panel , somehow I managed to mess it up along the way... nothing matches up and I faffed up the cuff, the part that meets the Knife guard (still learning the terminology πŸ˜‚)

So it’s back to the drawing board (literally lol) it’s not a total loss as I can salvage the leather and used it for a smaller project. Live to learn and all that 😁

Oh I should mention the above picture is the beginnings of the pouch to hold the fire steel and Sharpening stone πŸ‘πŸ»

Nice improvisation due to lack of staples Mark
Is your mate left or right handed Mark?
Looking forward to more photos and updates along the way mate:thumbsup:

Typical, I also hate it when people assume that I have nothing better to do with my time than make myself useful ;):rofl:
I get that a fair bit since I retired at 45. The assumption seems to be (at least for some) that they're doing me a favour by finding tasks (that others are unwilling to do) to occupy my day. I seem to manage that quite well myself as it happens, that TV isn't going to watch itself for starters. :)
