Only sensible discussion on this topic please. If you don't believe in Aliens, fine, but please do NOT try to convince me. This is to promote discussion among those that do believe that Aliens exist or may exist. Keep it friendly & polite please. I fully realise that this subject can be very scary for some people, shtf scenarios of any type can be scary. I have not seen what is inside these craft, & we can't possibly imagine what these Aliens may look like once we get past all the fiction we have seen & read about.
Keith.

Aliens Exist, what now?

For many years now I have been observing Alien craft in the skies at night. Confirmation of identification is only possible if (a) they change direction, or (b) if there are more than one travelling together. Satellites do not change direction abruptly at right angles, & satellites do not travel in numbers as far as I know. I have only seen on Alien craft in daylight, & that was about 30 years ago here where I live, & the craft was only about 50 meters away. Observation of the craft I have seen so far has shown me that they do not slow to change direction, not do they bank or curve like our aircraft, They simply change direction. I saw two do this, one travelling behind the other. Both going west, & suddenly they were going south. Almost as if they were following a grid pattern.

The one I saw up close made no sound when it finally moved. I have no idea how long it had been observing me & my young son. If my son had not spotted the reflection in the water, we would not have known it was there above the trees & slightly to the south of us. Shortly after we noticed this craft, it started to move, but went around us rather than going directly over us. It moved very slowly, but I have seen others that left an area in what I can only explain as being a flash. Not a flash from any external engine, but simply a flash of light. The same light that allowed me to observe its movements, being the reflection from what I have always assumed was the sun’s rays somewhere further round the earth. From what I have seen I believe the shape of some of these craft are indeed a shallow saucer shape. The suns reflection from the one I saw in daylight was literally dazzling & blocking out much of the shape under & over the craft.

So now comes the questions, do they have some objective beyond observing us? How many races of these Aliens are there? They are technically advanced far beyond anything that we could imagine going by the observation of their flying craft. I have seen nothing to make me think that they are anything but friendly, & I sincerely hope that some moron out there with a gun, should he get as close as I did, does not shoot at them!

Anyway, something to think about.

Keith.

I 'm sorry to say that I do not share your enthusiasm for this topic Keith. There is a lot of unexplained phenomena in spare around our locale, but it may or may not be aliens. The closest science has reached (openly) in the subject is to suggest the potential for life forms on Mars given the existence of the necessary building blocks for life. It is however a long step to suggest those findings support the existence of aliens.

It is, of course, possible that aliens visit or observe from somewhere very far away, but I cannot agree with the definitive statement "Aliens exist, what now?".

It will be interesting to see what the other forum members make of this - and has anyone else seen similar?

sorry, I don't believe in Alien life. same as I don't believe in Zombies.
and even if someone does, I don't think we can prep for it:lol:

I'm on the fence with little Green Men I'm afraid.

I will probably only believe it when I can walk up to the flying saucer and kick the tyre's. Up to that point its just a unsupported belief driven faith.

However so is Religion , which I also hold the same view upon and yet many people believe in that and it brings them joy and meaning to their lives.

That being said , A lot of NASA projects, which lets admit have some pretty clever folks within it , seems to be aimed at the belief that Intelligent Life of some sort out there must exist.

The following article I thought was reasonably thought provoking - in terms of one looking at the mathematical probability ( or not ) of Solar Systems out there somehow supporting intelligent off world life. Or are we just deceiving ourselves.

http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblo...-the-debate-about-the-probability-of-ext.html

Carl Sagan said that "extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence." In a stunning display of mathematical logic vs common sense, David Spiegel of Princeton University and Edwin Turner from the University of Tokyo published a paper last summer that turns the Drake equation upside down using Bayesian reasoning to show that just because we evolved on Earth, doesn’t mean that the same occurrence would necessarily happen elsewhere; "using evidence of our own existence doesn’t show anything" they argue, "other than that we are here."

What Bayesian reasoning overlooks, of course, is the inconvenient fact that there are some one trillion galaxies in the known universe and some 50 billion planets estimated to exist in the Milky Way alone and some 500,000,000 predicted to exist in a habitable zone.

Spiegel and Turner point out that basing our expectations of life existing on other planets, for no better reason that it exists here, is really only proof that were are more than capable of deceiving ourselves into thinking that things are much more likely than they really are.

They argue that other unknown factors exist that could have contributed to us being here that we don’t yet understand. So, they conclude that, deriving numbers from an equation such as that put forth by Drake, only serves to underscore our belief in the existence of other alien life forms, rather than the actual chances of it being so.

We think evidence will be discovered in the next 20 years: The Kepler mission has discovered 1,235 exoplanets that revolve around a sun, in an area that represents around 1/400th of the Milky Way. By extrapolating these numbers, the Kepler team has estimated that there are at least 50 billion exoplanets in our galaxy — 500 million of which sit inside the habitable "Goldilocks" zones of their suns, the area that it is neither too hot nor too cold to support life.

Astronomers estimate that there are 100 billion galaxies in the universe. If you want to extrapolate those numbers, that means there are around 50,000,000,000,000,000,000 (50 quintillion) potentially habitable planets in the universe.

As Arthur C. Clarke, physicist and author of 2001: A Space Odyssey wrote, "The idea that we are the only intelligent creatures in a cosmos of a hundred billion galaxies is so preposterous that there are very few astronomers today who would take it seriously. It is safest to assume therefore, that they are out there and to consider the manner in which this may impinge upon human society."To an objectivist, empirical view, the rules of Bayesian statistics can be justified by requirements of rationality and consistency and interpreted as an extension of logic. Using a subjectivist view, however, the state of knowledge measures a "personal belief".

I'm a believer... it evades me that people can belive in a catastrophic event that will pop us back to the Stone Age and can't belive in aliens..no offence intended....there is millions of planets out there most of which is older than our planet so if life started on them planets just like ours it would be more advanced than ours so traviling at the speed of light is not that far fetched....the only thing our species lack in this department is the motion to do it i.e. The right fuel!!

A have seen lights in the sky that move to fast and in a precise movement to be planes or any flying machine we know of. And there a regular sight in my area and funny enough there is an airforce base not to far away. A have seen 1 light turn into 3 and move of steady and then gone in seconds.

As a preper one lives there life on what if's and possibilities and law of averages and statistics.....we should belive its also a risk to our way of life it's a posibility which in our lifestyle (preper) we should atleest look into it

I'll ask ' To what point? '

And by that I mean how can one prepare for this as an event? I think the answer is you can't so what is the point?

All you can do as far as i'm concerned for nearly all events is to look at what the Human species need to survive upon from a Physiological pov and how to procure and safeguard those things.

If Aliens do exist ( and I'm stretching myself here in some ways but I love a good B movie as much as the next guy )
Does that change our requirement for :-

Water
Food
Shelter
etc

I do feel that this thread maybe better moved to the Conspiracy section as its unproven and just a theory that Aliens exist.

Shtf is a theory so should we move it to that section to....?

Water food shelter etc....well prime...we use all them at the moment so a suggest we shouldn't change that

If as prepers we look into what will change the modern world we live in and disrupt our way of life altering how we live that life..... or shtf....and prepare for the worst based on probabilities
(or am I missing the point in preping)
Should alien invasion not be added to that list because how unlikely it mite be it's still a probability based on the same ideology as shtf

Imo one can't live a life based on theory and not apply it to everything ....

Can I ask prime
How can someone (in general ) base there way of life on a possibility but extinguish other possibilitys because they don't belive

No. Sorry Mark , not True.

Various events ( shtf If you will ) Have already occured during history. Maybe not to the extent of some individual idea - ie no Mad Max scenario but clearly some events have happened already that seriously affected peoples lives.

Have ANY aliens been yet discovered? anything of any intelligent level from basic bacterial type lifeforms to more intelligent life - Clearly and an un-resounding NO.

Then what ? Should I believe the religious rapture is also a possibility and prepare for that also????? How ? by going to Church and being Pious???

Storms EXIST
PowerCuts EXIST
Riots EXIST
Financial Collapse EXIST

Aliens as far as the world knows or have PROVEN do not.

Should we also prep for ;-

Zombie Nazi's?
Dinosaurs Reinvading the world?
etc etc

Shtf events have occurred yes will they occure again maybe....can you guarantee it?...nope we can't it's an educated guess on past information and experience....
a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. Sounds a lot like theory to me or a theory in a theory (we're dose it end )

Am not trying to convince you of the existence of aliens am trying to show you that it's a possibility and should not be written of as an advent that could change our life's and become a shtf scenario (only a theory prime )

Have any aliens been discovered.......yes if you belive what you see or hear or read just the same as anything I suppose

We are here why can't they be

Ok - I'm going to count myself out of the conversation. Before you say it i'm cool with it all , I'm not offended in any way shape or form I ust don't have anything to add.

I really don't see any productive value to discussing the possibility of Aliens because the idea is SO massive and it won't affect how I prep anyway.

I don't believe in God either -so i wouldn't go to the effort of either talking to Believers trying to make them disbelieve or enter into enough dialogue to try and be converted myself.

A theory tends to be at some point supported by shreds of scientific evidence of cause and effect.
There is for SHTF events from our collective history.
There currently ( unless you can provide me with it ) any for Aliens.

A wouldn't ask you to belive in anything prime that's solely your choice a only offer up an opinion and offer a word or two to explain that opinion or answer a question

Storms..power cuts....riots..financial collapse.. exist....how do you know....because you have seen, hear, read,or been part of one well the same aplyes to ailens. You mite not ov seen one personally but like everything above you have read about it seen it on the tv just like many of the things you mentioned so how can on exist and that doesn't

Zombies well it's a bit far fetched even for me lol but there is a disease that makes you want to bite so it can spread....

Am sure I seen a program on scientific experiments on chicken eggs.....apparently the scientist was trying to turn of the evolosion button on the embryo so it would revert back to its ancestors i.e. Dinosaur so they could muck about with this and go to far...just like the movie it's not to far fetched when you think about cloning a sheep

Ok. question.

( No offence to Keith but to show a point )

Do you listen and believe the manic street preacher standing on the street corner spouting rhetoric?

I have no doubt that person believes in what they are saying but its quiet possible its not a TRUTH.

In all truth... no a don't believe the manic street preacher because (for want of better words) what they say scares the crap out of me...who would ?

If it's possible that it's not true what a man sees then it's possible that it is

Av seen things a cant explain do I belive it was an ailen craft ...yes a do.. do I want you to belive this...no ...a don't need you to bileve me that I seen these things and take no offence if you don't it's all good prime....but it doesn't take away the fact that preping is based on probability (facts or no facts ) the future is unknown...and ailens are a probability only because we're here on a planet that's surrounded by more planets and so on..
