That all round baddun' Smurf (and our mate Bob) are making me go and climb some big hllls again. I'm not a hundred percent on the route and we're throwing in some extra Corbetts so I'll be a tired boy when we're done. Packed my bag, emptied it to repack in a bigger bag before giving in and just taking the big bag but not topping it up (at least things will be easy to find). I'm too old and too fat to be carting 'just in case' stuff up hills now, I struggle carrying just me up the hills these days. :(

I'll leave it to Smurf to provide the majority of the phots as that's his bag, just looking forward to getting out, We might get a 'social' night on friday but its going to be a relatively dry weekend for this pilgrim. :crying: Can't wait though.

Smurf will be along to do his thing, it was a disappointing weekend for me, had a niggly knee going in and what I assumed was a bit of a hangover was probably a virus or something. We set up camp on the friday afternoon and had an early night. The plan was to break camp and do some peaks, camp then finish them off on the sunday and either start back on the sunday or the monday. I made the call that I wasn't going to risk the peaks, better safe than sorry and the mountains will still be there when I go back. Smurf and Bob decided to do a day walk and back down to the lochside while I hung around. I was lucky pretty much all day that there was a bit of wind which kept the midgies at bay, it died off just before the other two arrived back and we had a quick bit of nosebag and dived into our tents. We headed off the hill yesterday which was still a bugger with my dodgy leg (my hip so I don't know if I was trying to subconsciously look after the knee), all in all frustrating but its not put me off, me and Smurf are planning on a wee wild camp in Devilla next weekend if anyone fancies it.

Here's a few phots.

Its a beautiful remote place, I only saw 3 people all day, a guy doing the Cape Wrath trail and a couple out for a day walk. Well, and this fellah.

It was a beautiful day on the walk out, despite my Herr Flick impression.

I'll get back at some point, I'll make sure its not midgie season though... the wee b'stards.

It's a beautiful location Bam but look after the knee mate because it can lead to a lot worse and I'm speaking from experience. I've done with wild camping and sadly right now a wheelchair is beckoning

Sorry to hear about the knee. Hope it fixes soon

Cracking location and pictures buddy:D

Cheers guys, while I don't think its serious, its slightly concerning that it was an 'iffy' knee and is now a sore hip. I had plenty time to overthink things and was evening wondering if it was a bad back leading to it. I'll rest it and see how it goes, its not helped by my playful 19 stone I guess.

Sorry to hear it Joe, I hope it doesn't come to a wheelchair. Good luck.

Thanks Bam so do I but right now I'm not holding out to much hope

Lovely area Bam.
My knees are all but done for as well and yes it has stopped me hiking the hills and wild camping too Joe. These days a walk along the canal is all I can muster and campsites are the order of the day. I don't mind really, at least I can still get out.

@Joecole You really need one of these :D :D :D

unfortunately its not my knees and the specialist physio has ruled out my hips, my spinal lumbar region is just a mashed up pile of vertebrae I'm having an MRI on Wednesday so hopefully will post a copy of the sca

Looks like a cracking place Bam. Good decision not to risk the peaks with a gammy knee.

@Joecole sorry to hear that. I hope it doesn't come to having to use a chair!
Thanks Paul it bad enough having to use 2 sticks right now :(

Thanks Bam. I've not written anything yet as I've been making a video instead. I'm usually too busy trying to keep my balance than to take video. This wee 'Apeman' cam I bought off Amazon and strapped to my head however captured the journey quite handily. I've just finished this video of our adventure.
