Oh Joe........and there was me thinking we were getting along now

When I wrote the above.....first of all I wrote "Must be the Boy Scout in me" ..........knowing some of the minds on this forum....... I quickly changed that to.......trianing

Best wildlife spotting dog walk of the year so far: 3 red deer, 1 roe deer, a grasshopper warbler, a cuckoo and 2 hares. That's aswell as the usual rabbits, wrens, swallows etc etc.

Did see this little fellow while we were out and about...

The only reason we picked him/her up was to protect him/her as he/she was about to get eaten...
I'll leave sexing slow worms to an expert, I chose to allow it to keep its dignity.

Nice find, we used to find dozens of them as kids but haven't seen one in years round here

We have to be careful emptying the compost heap. They seem to like it in there.

We see them quite often, all shapes and sizes. We also get sand lizards, rare toads and newts

don’t get much of that here or should I say I haven’t seen them myself. My mate lives right out in the sticks and sees all sorts of animals. He did show me a picture of 2 snake like things that looked similar to the one in your picture. Just a little bigger and the skin was more blue’ish
